Timothy Flaherty, currently residing in Beacon, NY, was born and raised in Cold Spring, NY. He developed a diverse set of interests early on, excelling in athletics and earning four athletic letters in football, basketball, winter track, and spring track during his high school years. Despite his athletic prowess, Timothy also showed a talent for art and was recommended for art college.
After graduating from Haldane High School in 1974, Timothy briefly attended Syracuse University before transferring to SUNY Maritime College, where he graduated in January 1979. He later pursued further education, obtaining a graduate degree in International Business with an MBA in 1998.
Timothy’s professional journey is equally impressive. From 1979 to 1989, he served in the US Merchant Marines, rising to the rank of Chief Officer. He then transitioned into various managerial roles within the maritime industry, working for companies like Stolt-Nielsen INC, ANSAC, General Maritime, Malory Jones Lynch and Flynn, World Scale, and Dietz Ship Brokers.
Outside of his maritime career, Timothy is deeply passionate about art, particularly impressionistic oil painting. He is an active member of the Silvermine Art Guild, where he continues to hone his artistic skills.
